Grant rates are applied based on the size of the business or group of businesses, whichever is larger.

An individual business (rather than the group) may have a maximum of 4 funded projects at any one time. Additional projects will only be supported on an exceptional basis and must be approved by the programme manager.

Similar rules apply for public sector businesses, and eligibility must be checked with your KTA prior to the development of an application.

Fees associated with a higher qualification

The KTP Programme Manager has accepted and agreed, a maximum of £700 may be expended from the Associate Development heading of Eligible Costs on fees associated with achievement of a higher qualification.  Requests for additional funding under this heading will not be considered or supported.

If the Knowledge Base Partner is not a Higher Education Institution, £1,700 per Associate towards degree registration and examination fees may be paid, at the discretion of Local Management Committees, out of the standard ‘training and development’ budget of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.

KTA Actions following Funders Panel

Following assessment of applications and the programme managers recommendation to the Funders Panel, the Innovate UK team will produce a formal record of the decisions made for each proposal submitted for that particular Competition.

Within 1 week of the funders panel, KTAs will receive a consolidated funder’s panel record sheet showing a ranked list of all the proposals that were reviewed for that close, their position relative to the quality line and set against the grant funding available.  Proposals will either be supported or not supported and will not be re-opened for amendment.

KTP Advisers have 1 week from receipt of this information to discuss outcomes with project partners, before the competition system sends automated responses to the application team containing the decision of the funders panel.

Innovate UK staff will issue grant offer letters usually within 4 weeks of the Funders Panel, for successful applications.
