These are not KTP opportunities, but might be of interest to academics particulaly in the social sciences. There are a limited number of small grants available.
Having talked to the team in MoJ this morning, I felt this worthy cause was worthy of wider circulation.
1) Reading for Redemption Phase 2 Expansion
The Reading for Redemption Phase 2 Small Grants Scheme provides funding to UK Higher Education Institutions and recognised research organisations to deliver and review innovative reading programmes in prisons. Building on a successful pilot at HMP Frankland, the programme aims to engage people in prison who can read but do not routinely participate in reading opportunities. Funding will support delivery of curated reading programmes tailored to specific prison cohorts, alongside research to inform future development and scalability.

2) Reading for Redemption: Comparative Research of the Brazilian Reading for Remission Model
MoJ is seeking to fund a comparative research project examining the Brazilian Reading for Remission model and its potential applicability within England and Wales. The project will review international evidence, explore how reading-based educational approaches can support engagement, progression and rehabilitation outcomes., and assess how elements of the model could inform future Reading for Redemption development. The research will not consider sentence reduction but will focus on applicability to progression frameworks, rehabilitation pathways and future policy development.
